Litigation Paralegal

Hirschler is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our Litigation team.

Working in our Richmond office, this newly created, full-time position will collaborate with attorneys in each of our offices providing support to our litigation practice. This position requires a solid understanding of the litigation process, exceptional analytical and technology skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. 

General Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing support to attorneys through all phases of litigation;
  • Document review and case management with specific focus on electronic platforms;
  • Legal research and preparation of draft litigation documents and exhibits;
  • Managing information manually and through the use of computerized databases;
  • Coordinating the gathering of information, materials, documents, reports, and evidence necessary to respond to discovery including analysis of client documents for relevance and privilege;
  • Assisting attorneys with analyzing, organizing, and summarizing documents and materials, preparing for depositions, trials and arbitrations, as well as ensuring that logistics, exhibits, filings and deadlines are proactively managed;
  • Coordinating with outside vendors and services providers;
  • Coordinating and utilizing resources and equipment for presentation of evidence to be utilized at trial.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate or commensurate litigation paralegal experience;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and document management platforms such as iManage;
  • Knowledge of research software, including Lexis Nexis;
  • Knowledge of courtroom technology and ability to partner with attorneys, courts and IT team to access and provide support as needed;
  • Familiarity with various e-discovery and document production platforms;
  • Knowledge of court rules, procedures and protocols as well as rules of evidence, including rules governing electronic discovery, including state and federal court trial experience;
  • Proficiency in e-filing (state and federal) procedures;
  • Written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team atmosphere;
  • Client service and interpersonal skills;
  • Project management and organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and manage a variety of demands daily from a variety of sources;
  • Strong attention to detail
