Legal Administrative Assistant – Litigation

Hirschler, a dynamic and multispecialty mid-sized law firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) to join our team. This full-time, in-office position, based in our Richmond office, will provide comprehensive administrative support to our litigation practice lawyers and paralegals.

We are seeking a detail-orientated and proactive LAA to provide essential support to our litigation attorneys.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of professionalism in a fast-paced legal environment.  As a key member of our administrative team, you will work closely with attorneys, paralegals and clients to ensure seamless case management and support. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to a team of litigation attorneys and paralegals, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating court appearances
  • Draft, edit, and proofread documents and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and adherence to Firm standards
  • Prepare and file court documents
  • Assist with the preparation of discovery documents, organize exhibits and maintain detailed case files
  • Support attorneys and paralegals with billing, time entry, scanning, copying, filing, data entry and other special projects, as assigned

Requirements 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with legal-specific administrative support
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc.)
  • Typing speed of 75 wpm or higher
  • Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadline, and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A high level of professionalism, discretion and judgment in handling confidential matters
