Dave Lionberger and Brandt Stitzer were noted in Richmond BizSense for their representation of the seller of historic property in New Kent County. Dave and Brandt represented the owner of the property in the sale of a house and portion of the plantation where U.S. President George Washington married Martha Custis. The 574-acre tract along Rockahock Bar Drive on the south side of the Pamunkey River was sold on Nov. 21 for $3.4 million.
Henry Shield, a principal Richmond-based development firm Stanley Shield, and a small group of high net-worth individuals purchased the property from Runion. Brandon Spalding and Marshall Jones represented the investor group in the transaction.
Though the buyers have yet to disclose their plans are for the tract, Shield confirmed that preservation of the historic site will be a top priority.
