In an article published by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) on January 4, 2023, Ambika Biggs was quoted discussing the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs’ (OFCCP) proposed changes to its scheduling letters for audits for federal contractors, which would require contractors to share more information with the agency. The rules relate to the information contractors are required to share related to their affirmative action plans, including compensation data and demographic information in hiring and promotion practices.
While the proposed rules increase the reporting demands of contractors, Biggs suggested that the rules show the agency’s focus on positive change. “The proposed changes signal the OFCCP’s commitment and increased enforcement efforts to ensure contractors are meeting their equal employment opportunity and affirmative action obligations.”
