Hirschler is proud to announce that Brittany Falabella has been named in the American Bankruptcy Institute’s 2024 40 Under 40. This prestigious award is given to professionals who demonstrate remarkable ability, leadership and achievement in the bankruptcy and insolvency community before the age of 40.
The 40 Under 40 honorees are distinguished by professional achievements and service and are selected by a group of experienced insolvency professionals. This year's class joins more than 200 honorees from the program. Over 30% have become ABI Leaders, and 80% are leaders in their own firms.

ABI is the largest multi-disciplinary, nonpartisan organization dedicated to research and education on matters related to insolvency. ABI was founded in 1982 to provide Congress and the public with unbiased analysis of bankruptcy issues. The ABI membership includes nearly 10,000 attorneys, accountants, bankers, judges, professors, lenders, turnaround specialists and other bankruptcy professionals, providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and information.
Based in Hirschler’s Richmond office, Falabella represents multiple players in the bankruptcy process, including individual and corporate debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, committees and trustees. She also advises companies and stakeholders in out-of-court restructurings and wind-downs. Falabella has experience representing varied interests in chapter 11, subchapter V, chapter 7, and chapter 13 matters. She has been named in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law 2022 – 2025; named to Virginia Business’s “Legal Elite” for Bankruptcy Creditors Rights 2020 – 2023; and included in Virginia Super Lawyers’ Bankruptcy: Business 2023 – 2024.
Outside of her practice, Falabella is highly active within the community serving various professional and civic organizations. She serves as a triage chair for no-asset consumer bankruptcy cases for the Greater Richmond Bar Foundation/Central Virginia Legal Aid Services, is chair of the Bankruptcy Section of the Virginia Bar Association, is a member of the Local Rules Committee for the Eastern District of Virginia Bankruptcy Court, and she is active in the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederations. In the community, she has been involved with the Special Olympics as a coach and volunteer for over a decade, and formerly served as treasurer for its Young Professionals Board. She also serves on the Advisory Council of Richmond’s Next Move Program, a job training initiative for adults with intellectual disabilities.
Falabella earned her Bachelor of Art degree from College of Charleston and her law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law.
